ABSTRACT:
Paper focuses on theoretical reflection of the contemporary foreign scientific discourse on global leadership. It is divided into two parts. The basic aim of the first part is to clarify the essence and character of the respective discourse and by the means of some examples of understanding of the notions global leadership, global leader, and global mindset to provide evidence regarding vagueness, weaknesses, and other problematic issues related to the relevant discourse. Results are drawn from an in-depth textual analysis of 25 key scientific papers, published during the years 1998-2012 in prestigious foreign scientific journals, which shape the current scientific discourse on global leadership dominantly. In the second part the paper focuses on the review of scientific discussion about key global leadership competencies and their development.
